Weekly Update

Greetings Riders,
Well, this month we are celebrating 7th Anniversary. It is hard to believe the site has been around for 7 years already. It seems like only a couple of years ago when Mrs. C. and I were passing out flyers at a Choir Boys ride in October of 1999. At that time half the riders claimed to not even have a computer and the other half that had computers and internet access were glad that they finally didn't have to go collect flyers to know what was going on in the local scene of motorcycle riding. Back then was a mere skeleton of what it is today. On day 1 there were 3 events for the month of October, 1 for November, a couple of toy rides for December and 3 classifieds. That was it.

Fast forward 7 years and there are 34 events on the October calendar alone, over 10,000 Ride Photos 24 Day Rides and Multi-Day Ride features, Yellow Pages and Business Search, 420 Bike Photos with 100 more coming, ClassifiedsArchives of newsletters dating back to November of 2002, over 30 Videos including the classic and funny "What is a Real Biker" video, Women Who Ride pictorial, 220 Readers Rides Photos and various other tid bits that can be seen throughout the site.
The newsletter started back in January of 2000 with 15 friends and acquaintances and has now grown to over well over 6000 riders located in Arizona and literally around the world including some of our service Men and Women in Iraq and Afghanistan. That is 347 newsletters in a row without missing a week. For those of you that have been around for a lot of those, you know that virtually no subject has gone untouched. My intent is to keep it light and humorous while being motorcycle related, but sometimes I will feel the need to tackle a serious subject like immigration or just give you some of my experiences like a trip to Costco, a frozen turkey falling off of the back of the bike or the famous trip to the mall on Super Bowl Sunday to get Muffin Cups.

The experience with the newsletter has been tremendous for the most part. It gives me a chance to share my thoughts and experiences with all of you. I do realize that as an editor of something like this, when you lay it all on the line like I do, not everyone is going to agree with everything that is said. But the constructive, and sometimes not so constructive advice is read and appreciated. The letter is intended to motivate you to participate in the world of motorcycle riding and give you an uplifting break in the middle of the week from your busy day. I will continue to try and bring you the latest and greatest gadgets like the GPS that I like so much, the rides and events of the coming weeks, stories and photos of interesting rides that we do and current events that might affect you as a rider. But, if those things aren't available, you might just get what is on my mind Wednesday morning.
Mrs. C. and I have had many great experiences over the last 7 years and we are truly blessed to be a part of the motorcycle community in this State. We want to thank all of you for your support of and for all of the kind responses that we get every week when something in the Newsletter has a struck a chord with you. I am truly humbled and keep every one of them in a "Thank You" file to go back and read them occasionally. They are truly what keep me motivated to continue to improve the site to the best of my ability. Thanks again for 7 great years of support and for telling all of your riding friends about the site. You are the ones that have made it a success. If you know of anyone that would want to start receiving the Newsletter, Click Here to sign up.
Stay tuned for some exciting things that I am working on that will be announced in the next couple of weeks. Also, be sure to see next week's letter about a ride that I took today. If you labeled me as adventurous before, now you might think that I have totally lost it. But get ready for some beautiful pictures from off the beaten path.
