Rocky Point Rally Newsletter
The Fifth Annual Rocky Point Rally is set to take place in Puerto Penasco, Sonora Mexico on November 10th
through 13th, 2005. On the agenda are many activities and events to participate in throughout the weekend. The
heart of the Rocky Point Rally is in raising funds for the local charities by sponsoring the Red Cross, D.I.F.
Families in Distress, Children's and Senior's Homes, Women's Cancer Society and the Volunteer Fire Department.
The Rally is open and free to all motorcyclists and their families; there is no registration fee, as the Rally
is supported by the major sponsors as well as many local businesses. The principal charity fund raising will consist
of a $10.00 donation made directly to the charities for security I.D. bands that each motorcycle and rider will
be issued at the Welcome Tent located on Highway 8 next to the airport entering Puerto Pensasco. All motorcycles
with security bands will be offered secured parking in Hog Pens at the resorts, hotels, and Malecon Plaza.
Along with the $10.00 donation, each ID band has a raffle number for the drawing of the Rally's Grand Prize,
which includes a one week vacation at any Mayan Palace Resort located through-out Mexico, plus $800.00 in food
and beverages valued at more than $3000.00. Also included is a value booklet for huge offers at the sponsoring
Cantinas, Restaurants and local businesses. In addition, the only official Rocky Point Rally ride pin will be
available to the first 3000 persons who donate $10.00 to the charities at the Welcome Tent.
Events & Activities
The Fifth Annual Rocky Point Rally kicks off with the largest Poker Run to Mexico in the Southwest on Thursday
& Friday mornings, November 10th & 11th, 2005. If you like to travel in packs, Cyclerides.com is sponsoring
a group ride which leaves Arrowhead Harley-Davidson on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. sharp. Come one, Come all, and experience
a great ride. Once you arrive there will be a variety of activities, and events going on, guaranteed to appeal
to everyone! The Rocky Point Rally Welcome Party, hosted by Hacienda Las Fuentes on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. -
Midnight will start the Fiesta Weekend full of fun!! The Rally's many activities can be signed up for at the Playa
Bonita Resort's Cantina Friday between 10:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. The Saxon Motorcycles sponsored Cinco Estrellas Resort
Ride "Rollin' the Dice" is a 42 mile resort tour dice game. The sign-up is from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.,
at the Playa Bonita Resort's Cantina. Friday afternoon is the Fish Fry on the Playa Bonita Patio at 2:00 p.m.
- 6:00 p.m. with the Party at the Playa, commencing at 6:00 p.m., hosted by Grand Canyon Harley-Davidson. Awards
and Raffles will be at 7:30 p.m. on the Playa Bonita Stage, winners of the Mystery Cards Poker Run to Mexico and
the Cinco Esterellas 'Rollin the Dice' Resort Ride will be announced. The outrageous Titan Motorcycle Company sponsored
"XX Rated 21 Run", is Friday night from 9:00 p.m. 'till Midnight. This is the wildest adult only event
to witness this weekend, so don't miss out. As the sun rises on the Sea of Cortez, a full Saturday of fun awaits
Rally participants with a wide choice of activities. Sign-up for your day's fun at Lily's Restaurant & Bar
located on the Malecon waterfront from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. The "Tecate Girls" Bike Wash benefiting
the Volunteer Fire Department will be held across from Lily's, get your bike washed by the beautiful "Tecate
Girls" with assistance from the local Firemen from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., for a $10.00 donation. The
Rocky Point Rally 'People's Choice' Bike Show sign-up is from 10:00 a.m. until Noon with judging from Noon - 1:00
p.m. and trophies to be awarded at 2:00 p.m. The "RideNowRodeo" will challenge participants to compete
in three types of games, the Plank Ride, a Slow Race, and the Burrito Bite. The games will put riders on equal
Honda XR 200's with the riders combined finishes determining one overall winner. The prize for the "RideNowRodeo"
will be a 2005 UPC 100 mini race bike, valued at $1799.00. On Saturday, the "Paseo de Malecon" Walking
Poker Game will visit the Waterfront Restaurants: Portofinos, Senior Amigos, The Point, Lily's, Agave, and Maria
Bonita from 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Mid-day is the Cinco Cantinas Poker Run visiting five popular Cantinas throughout
Puerto Penasco, sign-up is from10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Lily's. The Hacienda Moto Parade will be assembling at
the 'Red Cross Clinic' on the Boulevard Fremont from 3:00 - 3:30 p.m. The Parade will commence at 3:30 p.m. with
a seven mile loop of greater Puerto Penasco, finishing on the Malecon Plaza. At 4:30 p.m. the awesome "Somthang
Fierce" Motorcycle Extreme Trick Riders will perform on the Boulevard in front of the Malecon Plaza. The
Tres Cantinas Street Party will kick off at 6:00 p.m. on Calle Matamoros with live Rock & Roll music by Krysis.
So…"Get ready" to Party all night long at the Baja Cantina, Manny's, and Pink Cadillac.
Run To Mexico
The Fifth Annual Rocky Point Rally kicks off with the largest Poker Run in the Southwest on Thursday &

be from 8:00 - 10:00 a.m., for a fee of $10.00 per Mystery Poker Play Sheet, you may win one of many Resort Vacation
Packages awarded to the highest poker hands. The route down to Mexico brings thousands of motorcyclists together
on scenic roads leading to the Resort destination on the Sea of Cortez known as Puerto Penasco (Rocky Point).
The Mystery Cards Poker Run finishes at the Playa Bonita Resort's Cantina where the poker cards are to be turned
in Friday ONLY, between 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. The Mystery Cards winners will be announced and raffle prizes will
be drawn at 7:30 p.m. during the Party at the Playa on the Playa Bonita Patio. For those wishing to ride en masse,
Thursday Nov 10th, Cyclerides.com is organizing a huge group ride departing from Arrowhead Harley- Davidson at
10:00 a.m. sharp.
Resort Ride
Friday's first event is the Saxon Motorcycles sponsored "Cinco Estrellas Resort Ride" visiting
five star resort facilities on a 42 mile loop tour. Entry fee is $10.00 each for the Cinco Estellas "Rollin'
the Dice" Run, you will receive a special ride-pin and a "Rollin' the Dice" score card to roll a
pair of dice at each of the five Resorts. Prizes for the highest scores are fantastic vacation packages at these
awesome resorts. You can sign up for this event on Friday at 10:00 a.m. - Noon, at the Playa Bonita's Cantina,
or at the Mayan Palace where this great ride will be departing. After rolling your first pair of dice at the Mayan
Palace, it's off to the Las Palmas Resort on beautiful "Sandy Beach" to roll your second pair of dice.
The last stops are located together on this luscious oceanfront, where riders have the opportunity to visit the
Sonoran Spa, Sonoran Sea, The Princesa, and Las Palomas, to roll the last four pairs of dice. The Cinco Estrellas
Resort Ride finishes with your dice cards to be turned in at the Playa Bonita Cantina between 2:00 p.m. - 6:00
p.m., just in time to grab refreshments prior to the Party at the Playa. The winners with the highest dice card
scores will be announced at 7:30 p.m. on the Playa Bonita Stage.
Fish Fry
Friday afternoon on the Playa Bonita Resort Patio from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. will be a Fish Fry sponsored
by Buddy Stubbs Arizona Harley-Davidson dealership. Enjoy grilled or fried fish tacos prepared fresh on the Patio,
where you can relax with friends while overlooking the beach.
Party at the Playa
As the sun is setting on the Sea of Cortez, the Party at the Playa will be kicking the night into high gear.
Enjoy music and dancing on the Playa Bonita Patio starting at 6:00 p.m. hosted by Grand Canyon Harley-Davidson.
The Mystery Cards Poker Run to Mexico, and Cinco Estrellas Rollin' the Dice winners, will be announced and raffle
prizes given away at 7:30 p.m.
XX Rated Fun
The outrageous Titan Motorcycle Company sponsored "XX Rated 21 Run", is Friday night from 9:00
p.m. 'till Midnight. A $10.00 entry fee is charged, in which you will receive an exclusive ride pin and a blackjack
score card, giving you four chances to play one hand of blackjack 21 at each of the four Topless 'Table Dance'
Bars. Three blocks of Calle 13 will be closed for Motorcycle Only Parking for this party. The T.D.'s Bars, Dunas,
Babes, Guau Guau, and Ruto 13 are all within walking distance from your bikes. You can sign-up at the Playa Bonita
Resort Cantina till 9:00 p.m. or on Calle 13 during the event. This is the wildest adult only event to witness
this weekend, so don't miss out.
Bike Wash
How about a bike wash before the big bike show? The "Tecate Girls" Bike Wash benefiting the Volunteer
Fire Department will be held across from Lily's, get your bike washed by the beautiful "Tecate Girls"
with assistance from the local Firemen from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., for a $10.00 donation. Bike Show entries
will be washed first.
Bike Show
The Rocky Point Rally "People's Choice" Bike Show is Saturday from 11:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m., located
on the Malecon Plaza Park overlooking the Sea of Cortez, this is a picture perfect setting to show your motorcycle
while enjoying music and a Grande Fiesta on the Waterfront. Sign-up for the Bike Show at the Playa Bonita's Cantina
on Friday from 2:00 - 9:00 p.m. or Saturday at Lily's on the Malecon from 10:00 a.m.- Noon. Get your bike washed
before the show by the Tecate Girls in front of Lily's at 11:00 a.m., Tecate Cervesa has provided twenty trophies
for the People's Choice winner in each class, plus a Grande Premiero trophy for the bike voted Best of Show. Judging
will be by People's Choice from Noon - 1:30 p.m. with the trophies awarded at 2:00 p.m.; this will leave plenty
of time to join in the Hacienda Moto Parade ride through town at 3:30 p.m.
Biker Games
The "RideNowRodeo" will challenge participants to compete in three types of games, the Plank Ride,
a Slow Race, and the Burrito Bite. The game will place riders on equal Honda XR 200's with each rider's three
combined finishes determining one overall winner. The prize for the "RideNowRodeo" will be a 2005 UPC
100 mini race bike valued at $1799.00 supplied by RideNow PowerSports dealerships: Town & Country, USA, YSA,
Desert, Metro, and Tucson Motorsports, along with Tucson Cycle & Ski. The number of entries will be limited,
so sign up early at the Playa Bonita Resort Cantina on Friday or Saturday at Lily's 10:00 a.m. - Noon. The Rodeo
entry fee is $20.00 and games will start at Noon on the Malecon Plaza and will finish when one rider proves to
have the best motorcycle skills in this one time event.
Walk the Waterfront
On Saturday, the Paseo de Malecon Walking Poker Game will visit these scenic Waterfront Restaurants: Portofinos,
Senior Amigos, The Point, Lily's, Agave, and Maria Bonita from 11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Paseo De Malecon Poker Play
Sheets are $5.00 each or three for $10.00, with the highest poker hands winning great dinners and drinks at the
sponsoring Restaurants. Pick-up your Poker Play sheets at Lily's from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. for this casual walk
on the Malecon during the all day Fiesta on the Malecon.
Big Parade
The Rocky Point Rally's Hacienda Moto Parade is the high point for the local children and townspeople, as
they have waited all year for the motocicletas to return to the streets of Puerto Penasco. The Hacienda Moto Parade
assembles at the Red Cross Clinic on the Boulevard Fremont at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday; this coincides with the finish
of the Cinco Cantinas run. Hundreds of motorcycles and their eager riders will take-off at 3:30 p.m. on the seven
mile loop of the city, while thousands of families, kids and onlookers cheer the Parade as it passes by. The final
destination will be the Malecon Plaza where the outrageous, tire burning Motorcycle Stunt Team "Somthang Fierce"
will astound all who witness their extreme riding abilities. Then, as soon as they have torn up the Malecon and
all the tire smoke has cleared, it will be time to "Rock" at the Tres Cantins Street Party on Calle Matamoros
at 6:00 p.m.
Saturday Bar-Hop
Mid-day on Saturday is the well established "Cinco Cantinas Poker Run", this event will take riders
to five popular local Cantinas to draw cards in hopes of winning one of many great prizes. Sign-up for this event
will be at the Playa Bonita's Cantina, Friday from 2:00 - 9:00 p.m., and on Saturday at Lily's Restaurant &
Bar from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. The "Cinco Cantinas Poker Run" will take you to the Friendly Dolphin,
followed by the Baja Cantina, Moab, Hacienda Las Fuentes, with the finish at the Black Dog on the Boulevard Fremont.
Poker hand turn-in will be at the Black Dog no later than 3:00 p.m. and the winners will be announced at 6:00
p.m. on the Tres Cantinas Street Party stage. You may wish to participate in the Hacienda Moto Parade starting
at the Red Cross Clinic next to the Black Dog at 3:30 p.m. and finishing on the Malecon Waterfront.
Saturday Street Party
The "Tres Cantinas Street Party" hosted by the Baja Cantina, Manny's and the Pink Cadillac will
start at 6:00 P.M. on Calle Matamoros. The street will be closed to "motorcycles only" parking all night,
with live Rock and Roll by "Krysis" on the street stage. Party in the street or at the Cantinas all
night long, for the final event until next years Rocky Point Rally.
