Cyclerides.com Weekly Update
9/1/04
Greetings Riders,
I am going to take a break from the Canada Coast trip this week. I will be back next week with the last days of the trip. If you are new to the letter or missed
last week, Click
Here to read and view the pictures.
We are now 65 days away from what is shaping up to be one of the biggest 3 day motorcycle
events ever in the State of Arizona. As most of you know by now. The
cast from Orange County Choppers are going to make their first appearance West of the Mississippi for a 3 day show
in Tempe, Arizona called "OCC In Tempe - Best Of The Southwest Custom Motorcycle Show". Paul Sr., Paul Jr., Mikey,
Vinnie and Cody will all be here and will be signing autographs in shifts for 8 hours on Friday and Saturday
and 5 hours on Sunday. I had originally reported that they would be bringing 10 bikes with them. But
with the interest in the show from all over the Western U.S., they have now decided to bring 18 bikes with
them as well as trying to encourage a few of their customer theme bikes to join in on the fun. The OCC compound
will be set up on the baseball field under a 100' x60' tent displaying all of the bikes and their merchandise.
I am continually amazed at all of the emails and calls that I get from people all over
requesting information on the show. This should be a very good time
for all. We are currently adding vendors, exhibits and displays that I will be announcing in the near future. Circle
K has signed on to be the title sponsor of the show, so you will be seeing many posters in all of the Circle K's
in the State in the next couple of weeks. You will also be hearing about and seeing ads from our media partners
FOX TV Network Channel 10 and our Radio partners KSLX, KUPD and KDKB. The three radio stations will each be sponsoring
a day at the event and will be on site.
There will be live entertainment every day and night. Friday
night headliner sponsored by KUPD is the local band "Crushed". I can't release the name of the Saturday
night National Touring Band yet because they have not signed. But I can tell you we won't be in "Bad
Company" if they do. Other local bands will be playing throughout the day and night.
One aspect of the show that I think will be really cool is the "Best of the Southwest
Custom Motorcycle Show". This will consist of 25 of the up and
coming "unknown" motorcycle builders. We are looking for guys that have not been discovered yet to display
their bikes and let YOU decide who is the Best of the Southwest and hopefully give them a springboard to stardom.
We already have some awesome bikes that have entered. I think this will be a really fun part of the event.
First prize is $5000 to the winner, $2000 for second. If you know someone who has a great custom bike that they
built and would like to enter, have them email me at info@cyclerides.com .
I was hopeful tickets would be on sale by now, but
there was a problem that had to be fixed with the ticketing company. This should be taken care of by Thursday sometime.
There will be a link on the front page of www.cyclerides.com to buy the tickets.
But, there are limited tickets now available for the V.I.P. Reception on Thursday night.
If you would like to get "Up Close" with The Teutul's and
their bikes, this would be a memorable way to do it. On Thursday, November 4th from 5-9pm there will be a V.I.P.
reception with The Teutul's in the tent that will include Live Music, Food, Giveaways, Autographs, Photo Ops and
a couple of other surprises. There are only 300 total tickets with only 200 left. This is a once in a lifetime
opportunity that would be a perfect Birthday or Christmas present for the OCC Fan in your life. Or if you
have a business, this would be an ideal incentive or reward for your special employees. Seating will be in tables
of 8. Cost is $300 per ticket and will be sold on a first come basis. This will be a special time. Click Here to order your ticket online.

information about the show. This link will be updated as new events and musical
acts are added.

4th Annual Rocky Point Rally. The 4th Rocky Point Rally is looking like the
biggest ever. Last year over 2000 motorcycles attended the Rally and with all of the new events, it looks to be

reserved your room yet, this is your reminder to do so. Click Here for all of the information
on this ride.
Extras
Here is one of those web pages of information that you really don't NEED to know,
and in fact, it is even hard to comprehend, but I thought you might
find it as interesting as I did. http://r0xor.com/
Here is a motorcycle song that a reader in Louisiana sent me. It is by Tim Wilson and called "Learned To Ride". Listen to the words, it is a pretty
funny song with a Southern Rock style. I'll bet you can't listen to it just once. Click Here to listen.
As for me this weekend, I am going to take
in a few bike nights on Thursday night and then take a little ride up North on the weekend. For those of you going
to the Rally In The Rockies don't forget to snap a picture for the "Readers
Rides"
page.
Until Next Week,
Blessings and Safe Riding To All,
