Cyclerides.com Weekly Update
8/29/07

Greetings Riders,

This week it is Greetings from Breckenridge, Colorado. Mrs. C. and I decided this would be a good time to "Beat the Heat" in Phoenix and head for some cooler country. We are in the midst of a 2400 mile ride through Northern New Mexico and Colorado. In fact, today we traveled on the highest paved road in North America, that is literally above the clouds, by riding up Mt. Evans on our way to Rocky Mountain National Park. As it turns out, we were riding in temperatures that were a whopping 70 degrees cooler than Phoenix. It was 42 degrees when we broke through the clouds and were greeted by 5 mountain goats in the road at 14,000 feet. It has been a fantastic ride so far with incredibly beautiful scenery. Next will be Loveland Pass, Vail, Aspen, Ouray, Silverton and Durango. I have already taken over 1200 pictures, and there will be plenty more that I will share with you over the next several weeks.

If you have emailed me over the last couple of weeks, I am not ignoring you, I appreciate all of your replies to the Chopper Ride and I will answer them all as soon as I can. Thanks for your patience. I have had a lot of questions about the annual 9-11 ride by W. Steven Martin. There will be no ride this year. He is planning a big one for the 10th anniversary. As for the Rocky Point Rally, it is on for November 8-11.

I will be back with a full editorial and an updated events calendar next week.

Thanks,
Barry
