Weekly Update
4/9/08
Greetings Riders,
I announced last week that the Hearts To Heroes
ride was not going to be escorted. But now it is. I would like to
thank Sheriff Joe and the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office for stepping up to
escort this important ride to support our troops.
Apache
Attack Helicopter Flyover to start the ride!
Since the Apache Attack Helicopter, which is
made by Boeing right here in Mesa Arizona is such an important part
of our military and is being flown and used by many of our Arizona National
Guardsmen, I thought it would be appropriate to have them represented in the
Cyclerides.com Hearts To Heroes event. So to kick off our ride this year we will
be getting 2 low level flyover's of the entire line of bikes at CCV
by two Apache AH-64 Helicopters flying in formation. I met with the pilot's
today for a site survey of the church and they said to tell you that you do not
want to miss this up close and personal display of the sound and power of
the Apache Helicopter as well as the maneuvers that you will see. This is really
an exciting opportunity for everyone to witness the superior equipment that our
soldiers are using. The flyover will take place at precisely
11:30am which will signal the start of the ride.
The video shoots are complete. The editing and
programming are now taking place to complete this year's program,
and it is going to be another great event. There will be video, live singing,
interviews and we will celebrate the safe return of 2 of the military
participants in the satellite feed to Baghdad last year as they will be
live on stage this year to sit down and chat. We will also have the honor once
again to have Jessica sing the National Anthem on this morning before singing it
on national television at the Diamondbacks game that night. The close this year
I think will be one of the most inspirational and patriotic that we have ever
had. Please round up your buddies and riding groups to help fill this place up
this year. You won't be disappointed.
After the program we will head back to our bikes
where we will stage and await the flyover of the two Apache Attack Helicopters
which will signal the beginning of our 14 mile escorted ride to
Westgate where we will have food, beverage and closing ceremonies with Major
Paul Aguirre of the Arizona National Guard and we will also hear from 2 soldiers
who have just returned from Afghanistan and their families. The band High N
Tight will be playing as we come in and will entertain us until 2pm in the
Westgate fountain area where there will be food and
drink.
I would encourage you to tell
everyone you know that is not riding a motorcycle to line 67th Ave. from Happy Valley Rd. to the 101 and participate in support
of this parade of motorcycles that are riding to support our United States
Military. If you are riding, arrange for your kids to be brought out to see
this event.
If you have not been to a Cyclerides.com Hearts
to Heroes, don't miss this last one. It is a great opportunity
for you to show your support for our current military and to honor our veterans
that have previously served. I look forward to seeing you there. There will be

To Heroes. If you would like the opportunity to publicly support our United
States Armed Forces, Don't miss this final installment of the Cyclerides.com
Hearts to Heroes. Once again we will have an hour long multi-media
program filled with Video, Singing, Interviews and recognition of our Veterans.
Many of you last year said this was the best event you had ever been to. If you
were there last year, come again this year and bring a buddy. Among all of the
activities, 2 of the Soldiers that you saw last year are back home and will be
live on stage at this event. Should be a memorable moment for all to share.
The surprise I
mentioned last week can now be announced. We will have a multiple flyover of 2
Apache 64 helicopters that will be our signal to start the ride.
This will be an awesome display of power and excitement as the massive
helicopters will do 2 low level passes over us as we begin to leave. This
will be an incredibly exciting and powerful start to the ride.
The Escorted ride will then go to Westgate City
Center for closing ceremonies with Maj. Aguirre of the Arizona
National Guard, Video on the Giant LCD screen and live music with the High N
Tight band. Food and refreshments will be available.
