Cyclerides.com Weekly Update
4/2/08

Greetings Riders,

As usual this time of year, things for me are in high gear and will be through the Hearts to Heroes on April 12th. I have been shooting video and finalizing the program for the event. It is coming together very nice and should be another memorable year. I shot the video interview of Sgt. Kenner on Monday and it was an honor to spend some time with him. Should see Capt. Oneil this week.

If you would like the opportunity to publicly support our United States Armed Forces, Don't miss this final installment of the Cyclerides.com Hearts to Heroes. Once again we will have an hour long multi-media program filled with Video, Singing, Interviews and recognition of our Veterans. Many of you last year said this was the best event you had ever been to. If you were there last year, come again this year and bring a buddy. Among all of the activities, 2 of the Soldiers that you saw last year are back home and will be live on stage at this event. Should be a memorable moment for all to share. I am also working on a big surprise that I can't announce yet. But if we can pull this off, it will be really extraordinary. Hopefully I can announce it next week. See the events section below for more information on this ride. I will be back with all of the details next week.

As you all know, Cyclefest at Arizona Bike Week starts today. I was out there today and things are looking good. See some of the select events below or go to www.azbikeweek.com for all of the details. I have a booth out there this year and will be in and out for events and video shoots, but would love for you to stop by to say HI and pick up a souvenir Hearts To Heroes Flyer. I am located just 4 booths West of the Buddy Stubbs booth on the North side. Look forward to seeing you there!

If you have emailed me a ride to put on the calendar, I will get to it as soon as I can, but extra time is tough right now. See what time that this was sent. Sorry for the delay.

Next Week

Saturday, April 12th
Cyclerides.com Hearts To Heroes. But if we can pull this off, it will be really cool. Hopefully I can announce it next week.

The Un Escorted ride will then go to Westgate City Center for closing ceremonies and live music with the High N Tight band. Yes, you read this right, Un Escorted. The reason is that it was going to cost nearly $4000 to get this ride escorted 12 miles by DPS and Glendale Police. I thought this was very costly and would rather give $4000 to Soldiers that have returned home that need help than giving it to off duty police officers. No disrespect to the Police officers, just think the money could be better spent. I'm sure we can make it 12 miles on our own.

Here are the particulars of the event:
Time: Sign In starts at 7am. Program starts at 10am. Please be in the Church and seated by 10am.
Place: Christ's Church of the Valley located at 7007 W. Happy Valley Rd. in Peoria.
Donation: $20 Per Bike and small goods donation for troops. Used DVD's are a good idea. See Top 10 Needed Items.
Ride Pins: $5 Per Pin Available at start of ride.
Shirts: Very limited supply of T-Shirts available at start of ride. $12 Short Sleeve, $15 Long Sleeve. Get there early for these.
Benefit: Operation Homefront - Freedom Is Not Free - Packages From Home.

You are not going to believe this video of a mid-air wheel change on an old bi-wing plane. For some reason I don't think the FAA would approve this maneuver today. Click Here to View.
