Cyclerides.com Weekly Update
4/2/03
Greetings Riders,
Last week I left you with the story about me continuing the training of my
daughter on the motorcycle. It was amazing all the stories I received with similar instances in training their
kids, or women that have had similar results when learning to ride. There were no new riding lessons this week,
Walgreen's was out of the Grecian Formula for blond hair, so we could not continue. I also had a lot of mail
about the new column featuring Stan Dale on legislative issues. It is nice to see that there is so many riders
interested in bad laws that could affect our riding privileges. See the Extras column below for an update on HB2386.
I have been working on this project for about 3 months now and I am finally
ready to announce it to all of you. As you know I am always trying to
make things better for riders in this state. I like developing new events,
bike nights, entertainment venues and I also enjoy providing content with day rides, photos, videos and the weekly
newsletter. For some time I have wanted to bring the Cyclerides family together with a common thread
but at the same time make it financially worthwhile to you. I looked at several ideas of how we could take advantage
of our numbers as a group. Local businesses are aware of Cyclerides.com and our readers, so I thought, why
not let it be known who we are when we are patrons of these businesses, and get special advantages while we are
there.
With that in mind, I have developed The Cyclerides.com V.I.P. Card. One of my prerequisites
for the card was that the rider would get well more than their money back on the card with free items, get money
back in immediate deep discounts and be able to use your card for discounts all year long in many different places including
food, apparel, parts, entertainment and lodging. For an annual membership of $39.95 the Cyclerides.com VIP card
will feature these benefits:
Over $100.00 of Free Food, Apparel and Services. You are already $60 ahead. All you have to do is show the card to get your items.
You will receive free dinners from
Casey Jones, Jetz Americana, The Hideaway, Fandango and The Wild
Hare. There will also be free a free bandana or gloves from
Joeta's Leather, and
a Free Dyno Run from
Custom Performance.
You don't have to buy anything, just show the card.
But that is not it! Are you ready to add some new chrome or accessories
to your motorcycle or maybe get some new riding clothes? Then get your wish list together and take advantage
of:
Hacienda Harley's one time 20% off on any parts, accessories or motorclothes up to a $5,000 purchase. A savings of up to
$1000. Just show your card and receive the one-time discount. And since we all drive cars from time to time, you
will also receive $3.00 off all car washes all year long at all BJ's Auto Spa's.
But that's still not it! Beyond
those free items and deep discounts there will be many other benefits including locations that will offer Ongoing Discounts on Food, Parts, Services, Lodging and Events simply by showing your Cyclerides.com VIP Card. Unlike coupons that can only
be used once, your Cyclerides V.I.P. Card can be used as many times as you like for ongoing discounts. This is
just the beginning, I will be adding businesses daily as the word gets out that the Cyclerides.com users are banding
together as one. They will love catering to the Cyclerides.com V.I.P. members.
Click here for the fast growing
list of businesses that will honor the V.I.P. Card.
As you can tell, I am very excited about being able to bring to the riders
of Arizona a quality product like the Cyclerides.com
V.I.P. Card. As we band together and show our buying power
as a group, the discounts and opportunities will get better and better throughout the state, where ever we go.
I intend on quickly expanding our opportunities to other areas so that when we are taking rides up North in the
Summer we will be welcome in all parts of the State. To keep you well informed, I
will be sending out a Bi-Monthly newsletter to all members letting you
know what new opportunities are available with the Cyclerides.com V.I.P. Card.
I have a 2 minute video that explains in detail about the card and how to order. It is a small file, so even the dialup users can easily view this video. Click Here To
Watch.
Get yours today and start your savings! For more information and to
order securely online go to www.cycleridesvip.com and click the Order Now button at the bottom of the page. Buy one as a gift for your favorite rider and one for yourself. I will be sending out cards as soon as I receive orders so that you can use them
this week. I will also have a booth at the Kickstart Party at Hacienda Harley on Friday night. Stop by there to
place an order or pick up your card. I think this is a great opportunity for all riders and I look forward to the
V.I.P. Card maturing and the membership growing throughout the year.
The Miss Arizona Bike Week preliminary competition is now over. After

Supporting Our Troops and Ground Zero Heroes. This sounds like a good event to me. I am looking forward to talking with Gregg
Nolan. It is free to participate. Donate if you would like. It is designed to Support our Troops and Show support to
those who were involved in the cleanup of Ground Zero in New York. Coming along for the ride are a bunch of NFL Players, Fireman, special guests, and
a special VIP, Gregg Nolan and his wife, Diane. Gregg is and has been the foreman for Ground Zero since 9/12/01. These guys are the guys who pulled out the bodies, welding the beams in pieces just
to get through to people in the rubble. They are our Hero's. They said to me they feel like Zero's now, because
people have forgotten. Well, we haven't, and we want to show them how grateful we all are here in Phoenix for putting
themselves on the line. They worked hand in hand with FDNY and have some stories to tell, for sure. It would be
nice if everyone could come out and say Thank You to Gregg Nolan. He is still a Hero, not a Zero! The ride starts
at the Hall of Flames Firefighter museum at 6101 E. Van Buren at 10:30 AM and ends at The Hideaway in Cave Creek.

Extras
Last week I introduced Stan Dale to you as the Cyclerides.com reporter on legislative
events. I got an incredible amount of email with interest in how riders could help stop this
bill. The following is Stan's Update on HB 2386 regarding "Dangerous driving and Cruising".
The combined voices of ABATE, MMA and Cyclerides.com have descended onto Arizona’s Capitol Hill and effectively
“opened the eyes” of our elected officials these past weeks. The result has been the defeat of HB2386 – Dangerous Driving, Cruising – in Committee
by a 6 – 0 vote. The remarks in opposition to this Bill saw “unintended consequences” as the main
reason for defeating it in Committee. This is a clear victory for the combined effort of all the groups and organizations
who work with one another, from different angles, to get our message across. Much thanks to the tireless work of our colleagues at ABATE and MMA for all
the work they do for riders in our state.
And a special thanks to our readers who provided invaluable input, ideas and suggestions. Please feel free to send us legislative comments, inquiries, concerns, issues that
you feel might infringe upon the rights and freedom of motorcycle enthusiasts throughout Arizona and we will spread
the work and act upon them on your behalf. If you have issues that you know are coming up you can reach Stan at sjd3@cox.net.
This has been a busy 3 weeks getting ready for Bike Week and the Cyclerides.com V.I.P. Card. If I have not gotten to your emails, I apologize. I am not ignoring anyone, I just haven't had a chance to get to all of them.
As for me this week, I will be floating around to a lot of the events taking pictures and video for the site. I
will be at most of the night parties as well as some of the Rides and Cyclefest having fun with the rest of you.
See you there.
Until Next Week,
Blessings and Safe Riding To All,
Barry Caraway
