Cyclerides.com Weekly Update
3/22/06

Greetings Riders,

I have been talking about the Cyclerides.com Hearts To Heroes ride for a while now and the time is finally here. This is a very special event that will show support for our Troops while raising money and goods for Packages From Home to send to our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. If you only do one ride this year, you will want to make this the one. This is an opportunity to show YOUR support for our Nations Troops. They need it now more than ever.

The ride will take place this Saturday, March 25th at Christ's Church of the Valley located at 67th Ave. and Happy Valley Rd. Sign in is from 8-10am. I would suggest to get there and get signed in early. From 8am -10am there will be some excellent patriotic videos playing inside. The Cyclerides.com Hearts to Heroes multi-media presentation on the two 20 foot screens inside the 3500 seat church starts at 10am sharp. You will not want to miss this! I am putting the final touches on a program that I hope will be a satisfying and memorable experience for you, while being an honorable tribute to our troops that are in harm's way as we speak. Coffee, doughnuts and water will be available while supplies last.

New things are being added daily, but at this point we will start with a 45 minute presentation that will include the National Anthem sung by Nashville recording artist "Erin", a tribute on stage to 8 World War II Veterans, a song by Jonnie and Brookie, a video interview of an Army Soldier just returned from Iraq after he was blown up by an IED, a video interview of a Mother who lost a son in Iraq and received that news on Mother's Day last year, a special tribute to Vietnam Veterans, a video tribute to all Veterans, and a closing song by "Erin". This entire program will be an emotional and patriotic tribute to our Troops both past and present.

We will then take and escorted ride with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office to Glendale Community College football stadium where we have words from USMC Lt. Col. Russell Smith from Camp LeJuene, North Carolina, Capt. Roxie T. Merritt USN, Office of the Deputy Assistant Sec. of Defense, U.S. Dept. of Defense, Washington, DC., Kathleen Lewis of Packages From Home and others. At 1:00pm we will have 6 skydivers jump into the football field each carrying a flag from a branch of service followed by the American flag. We will follow that with a 45 minute concert from Nashville recording artist "Erin". This will be a special treat for us all. Click Here for a link to last year's photos and video.
