Cyclerides.com Weekly Update
12/28/11

Greetings Riders,

As I mentioned in the letter last week, this is the time of year that I try to take some time off and rejuvenate for the new year. So the editorial will be brief this week, but there are still a few good nuggets for you to read.

As part of my R&R, Mrs. C. and I flew the in-laws up to Sedona today. If you haven’t been to the Sky Ranch Lodge next to the airport, it is a great place to get a fantastic view of Sedona. Rooms there range from $80 to $200 per night for a suite. You can get a rim view like that one for about $150 and up. We didn’t stay there, but they have no problem with you walking out to the terrace where they do weddings to see the view. There is also a brand new restaurant at the airport that you can eat at. A bit pricey, but really good food. From there we flew over to Cottonwood and walked to old town for Mac and Cheese at our favorite restaurant there, The Tavern Grille on Main St. Awesome! Should be some awesome riding this weekend. Sedona should be perfect for riding up there as well. It was absolutely beautiful today. Click here for a few photos from the day.

Take a look at this short video of the Cyclerides.com Toys to Kids event produced by Roy Garibaldi of the Positive Side TV. He shot video from the event on December 3rd and this segment aired on TV 3 last weekend. Many of you who attended are in it. Roy did a great job of showing what this event is all about with the kids. Thanks Roy for sharing this with others. The entire show will air again on TV 3 on Saturday, December 31st at 3 PM and Sunday at 6 AM. Set your DVR’s if you would like to record this. My thanks to all who support this event every year.

Thanks again to Roy Garibaldi of Positive Side TV.

I will be back next week with a full letter to outline what big events are coming up for the first part of the year.

Saturday, February 11th
Arizona Centennial Ride. Plan to attend this “Once in a Lifetime” event to celebrate 100 years of Arizona Statehood. This will be a DPS escorted ceremonial ride of approximately 15 miles that will take us West on the Loop 202 to I-10 through downtown Phoenix past Chase Field and West on Jefferson to the Capitol where we will end at the Centennial Best Fest featuring a performance by Dierks Bentley. This will absolutely put a rumble in Downtown Phoenix like they have never heard before. I can’t wait. The cost for the ride will be $25 per person that will include participation in the ride, a commemorative t-shirt, ride pin and one (1) ticket for the drawing to win the AZ Copper Chopper. The t-shirt and ride pin will be in limited quantity so you will want to pre-register to guarantee that you get these collectible items. Once they are gone that is it. There will be a very cool patch that will be available to purchase at registration. I will have a picture of that in a couple of weeks. Click the following link for a picture of the shirt design that I took with my cell phone at a meeting. This will be shirt back.

You can register on line to make sure that you get your items that will be picked up the day of the ride. CLICK HERE for more information and to register online. This will be a huge one day motorcycle event that will be high energy, lots of bikes and a once in a lifetime opportunity to ring in 100 years of Statehood for the 48th State in the nation. I’m excited already! See you there.
