Weekly Update

Greetings Riders,

If you missed the newsletter last week with the story about the proposed lane splitting legislation for Arizona and the results of the survey with the 123 comments, Click Here to View.

Well, it is that time of year. Christmas is only 5 days away and the new year is upon us. Another year seems to have zipped by faster than ever. I have said it several times before, but the older I get, the faster the world seems to spin. Days become years before I realize it. With that in mind, these lyrics from Kenny Chesney's song "Don't Blink" seem to ring true.

Don't Blink
"Best start putting first things first,
Cause when your hourglass runs out of sand,
You can't flip it over and start again,
Take every breathe God gives you for what it's worth"

"So I've been tryin' to slow it down, I've been tryin' to take it in,
In this here today, gone tomorrow world we're livin' in.
Don't Blink."

See the full song. Click Here. Well worth the 5 minutes.

For those of us getting older and wondering what happened to the last 10 years, those are some pretty good words to read and let soak in for a while. I know I have been trying to slow it down, but in this fast paced, electronic world at our finger tips lifestyle we live, it doesn't seem to leave much time to actually enjoy a peaceful moment to reflect. I think we all need to find a way to unplug. At least for a while.

So with that said, I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas! Take some time to enjoy your Family, Friends and Yourself. The world will still be there after you take care of what is most important. I have family coming in and am going to take my own advice. I will not be sending out a newsletter next week. I will be back on January 3 with the first letter of 2018.

We wish you a Merry Christmas and May God Bless you with what you need in the coming year.

Ride Safe,
Barry and Tammy Caraway

Take a Visit to the "Art of the Ride"
Custom-built Motorcycles, Paintings and Photography.

If you will be going out of town through Sky Harbor over the holidays, or just want a destination to ride to, be sure to check out the Phoenix Airport museum and its' current display called "Art of the Ride". I went down there last week to check it out and it is really worth your time to walk through and see the display. I was going to try and describe it, but the museum did such a good job, I will give you their words.

"Arizona is a cultural mecca for motorcycle riders, enthusiasts and biker communities both near and far, young and old. With 300-plus days of sunshine and hundreds of miles of pristine asphalt ribbons, Arizona may be the most motorcycle-friendly state in the country. Opportunities are plenty to cruise along on two wheels while taking in beautiful wide open desert vistas or challenging winding forested mountain roads.

This popular mode of transportation is the perfect combination of inspiration and creative freedom for artists, photographers and motorcycle-builders. This exhibition takes the audience for a spin featuring one-of-a-kind hand-crafted motorcycles, artist-embellished bike parts, paintings and photographs that present attitude, passion and attributes of the camaraderie of riding.

From early images of rebellious gritty bikers to custom extravagant creations, this exhibition captures the imagination and personal expression of art on two wheels in the Grand Canyon State. The Phoenix Airport Museum Gallery invites you to put “kickstands up” and experience the Art of the Ride."

You will get a chance to once again see the totally refurbished "Copper Chopper" built by Paul Yaffe's Bagger Nation on display. It looks better than ever and is lit like a beautiful piece of art. The Gallery is in Sky Harbor Terminal 4 on the East end of Level 3 near the food court.

If you don't live here or don't get a chance to see it in person, Click Here for some photos that I took.
