Well, it is that time of year.
Christmas is only 5 days away and the new year is upon us. Another year
seems to have zipped by faster than ever. I have said it several times
before, but the older I get, the faster the world seems to spin. Days become years before I realize it. With that in mind, these lyrics from Kenny Chesney's song "Don't Blink" seem to ring true.
"Best start putting first things first,
Cause when your hourglass runs out of sand,
You can't flip it over and start again,
Take every breathe God gives you for what it's worth"
"So I've been tryin' to slow it down, I've been tryin' to take it in,
In this here today, gone tomorrow world we're livin' in.
See the full song. Click Here. Well worth the 5 minutes.
For those of us getting older and wondering what happened to the last 10 years,
those are some pretty good words to read and let soak in for a while. I
know I have been trying to slow it down, but in this fast paced,
electronic world at our finger tips lifestyle we live, it doesn't seem
to leave much time to actually enjoy a peaceful moment to reflect. I think we all need to find a way to unplug. At least for a while.
So with that said, I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas! Take
some time to enjoy your Family, Friends and Yourself. The world will
still be there after you take care of what is most important. I have
family coming in and am going to take my own advice. I will not be
sending out a newsletter next week. I will be back on January 3 with
the first letter of 2018.
We wish you a Merry Christmas and May God Bless you with what you need in the coming year.
