Weekly Update

Greetings Riders,
First of all, I would like to say a big THANK YOU to all that responded to last week's letter about the Toys to Kids Event coming up on Saturday, December 6th. If you missed last week's letter CLICK HERE to read. Within 2 hours I had at least 6 people that had volunteered to pay the $270 for the busses to bring the kids to Westgate and plenty of other emails letting me know that they were glad that I was continuing this event. I also had a couple of people offer to provide the sound system as well. Thanks to Paul Yaffe of Paul Yaffe's Bagger Nation for the bus donation and David Darnell of Big D's Mobile Dj's for the sound system. I am constantly humbled by the generosity and support from the riding community. I appreciate all of you that attend these events and for those that take the time to reply with well wishes.
The only thing that is still needed is some staging and some carpet to lay down for the kids to sit on. It really just needs to be some 2 foot risers in an 8x16 foot configuration. If you know of someone who has this that would like to donate the use of it for the day, please let me know. Otherwise we will have to rent it. Other than that, we have some great entertainment lined up that both the adults and the kids will enjoy including Bret Kaiser making his 4th encore appearance rocking the crowd with his tribute to ELVIS. This is a fun, high energy performance that you won't want to miss. Bring the whole family. Click Here for Toys to Kids details.
I am cutting the editorial short this week due to the Thanksgiving Holiday. But I want to thank all that replied via email last week. I have been working through the emails, but if I have not responded yet, I will be catching up in the next day or so. Thanks again for all of the support and I look forward to seeing you on December 6th.
I will be back next week with a final preview of the entertainment and details for the Toy Ride.
Happy Thanksgiving to all and Blessings to you and your families.

Next Week

Saturday, December 6th Toys To Kids Ride-In. Plan to attend the always popular Toys To Kids Event. This year the event will be a Ride In. Get your Riding Groups, Clubs and Chapters together, pick a location to meet, strap a toy to your bike and ride to Westgate City Center Events Plaza in Glendale where we will have 100 underprivileged and homeless kids bussed in to receive your gifts and enjoy some good Christmas entertainment. Here is how the morning will look:

Starting at 9am you and your groups can start arriving to park in the events plaza on both sides of the street until the area is full, then parking will be in the lot just East of the fountains. Saddle Ranch Chop House Restaurant will have a buffet available that will include a complete breakfast than includes orange juice and coffee for a total of $8.99 per person. Saddle Ranch is located right next to where we will be having the event and has a huge patio where you can dine and enjoy the music and fountains.
At 10:30am the Litchfield Park Children's Choir will entertain the riders with a few songs until the children arrive. This is a very talented choir that you won't want to miss.
At 10:45am the 100 underprivileged and homeless children from the Children's First Academy will arrive and assemble in front of the stage and toys to our thunderous applause as the walk in. This should be a great moment for all of these kids to feel appreciated so much in a time when moments like that do not come around that often. Most of you have heard about the closure of the Pappas Schools last spring and were wondering where all of those kids would go to school. A new charter school was started called Children's First Academy and those kids were taken in by them. Most of the staff from Pappas transferred as well to continue taking care of these kids that have no where else to go. I personally went to visit the new school a couple of weeks ago and was extremely impressed with what they were doing with the new location a couple of blocks away from the former location. It looks as though they are making this a comfortable situation for all involved. Click Here to learn about Children's First Academy.
At 11:00am the program and entertainment will begin. We will have entertainment for children and adults alike. There will be an encore performance by the Children's Choir, a juggler and unicycle rider show and what has become a Toys to Kids tradition, Bret Kaiser as ELVIS will rock us and the kids to close out the show. The kids will then be allowed to pick out their toys from the stacks of toys in front of the stage.
At 12:30pm, Westgate is sponsoring a "Big Air Freestyle Motocross" show. This will be a 20 minute show of motorcycles doing tricks high in the air from ramp to ramp including the now famous flips in mid air. These guys are a lot of fun to watch. This performance will be taking place right next to where the Toy Ride event will be. Just walk over and enjoy the free show. So ride your bike, have the rest of the family drive the car and make it a family day at the Toys to Kids Ride-In.

The toys that Children First are looking at would include: Bead sets, Art Sets, Sports equipment, Remote Control Car, Easy bake ovens, Play dough sets, Portable CD players, Color Wonder play sets, Kinex, Legos, Please no dolls or bratz dolls. If you are looking for more than giving the kids one toy. We would like a new book for each child, hygiene items and a sweatshirt."
When: Saturday, December 6th
Where: Westgate City Center Events Plaza located on S.E. Corner of the Loop 101 and Glendale Ave.
Time: Breakfast starting at 9am at Saddle Ranch located next to event stage.
Kids Arrive at 10:45 am. Show starts at 11am. Freestyle Motocross starts at 12:30pm.
Cost: One Toy and Optional bag of hygiene products.

Due to the shortened editorial this week, I am going to add an extra video for your viewing pleasure.
This one is obviously not real, but it is a pretty fun stunt to watch. Click Here to View.
Some freeway cameras catch you speeding, others catch disaster on the freeways. Still can't figure out what caused this. Click Here to View.
There are some videos that I get that there just aren't words to describe them. This is one. Click Here to View.
And here is another one called in an audio file called "We not rich". Click Here to Listen.
I am going to leave you with this commercial for Home Depot that was apparently shown somewhere outside the U.S. at about 1:20 into the video you will start feeling her frustration. It is said to be based on a true story. Click Here to View.
