frontpage350road Weekly Update
Greetings Riders,
Well, I hope your are enjoying this perfect weather that we are having now, because it looks like starting December 1st, the long range forecast is predicting much cooler weather for the month of December. But that is only on our scale. Still way more desirable than many other places we could live. If you are new to the newsletter and are looking for some ideas on riding, 2 weeks ago I talked about riding up South Mountain as a good local idea to get out on the bike and take a good ride with an awesome view of the valley. Click Here to Read. Last week I suggested 4 stops in Sedona that you might not have been to that we found to be a great time and will give you a destination and another excuse to take a ride. There is still time to do these with continued great weather up North. Click Here to Read.
As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, the Toys to Kids ride is going to be on Saturday, December 7th this year. I have asked for Children First Academy from downtown Phoenix to bring as many as 120 kids aged from K-3 this year for the event. For those of you that have not been to this event before, we bus in these children to Westgate City Center next to the giant Christmas tree on the grass where we entertain them, feed them and allow them to pick out any 3 toys out of the huge pile of toys that they want. It is an awesome sight to see them scoping out the gifts that they want, and go get them. This is my 11th year of doing this event and it is always a thrill to see how appreciative these kids are for what YOU do for them. Please bring at least one toy per person and enjoy the show. See Photos from last year. See a video from a couple of years ago. Really worth while. Click Here to View.
But this year I need your help! I have ELVIS lined up for entertainment, but I would really love to have some kind of animal act that would include dogs, birds, etc. that would entertain the kids AND adults. Since these kids are either literally homeless, or in temporary housing at best, most of them don’t have pets of their own. Being a devoted pet owner, I thought it would be fun to entertain them with a good animal show. So, does anyone out there know of a good show like this that could do it on December 7th. Also a good clown or magician act would be good too. Any help you could give me would be appreciated. I want this to be memorable for the kids. Email me at with any suggestions. Thank You!
This Thursday night, November 14th, will be the final Westgate Bike Night presented by Arrowhead Harley-Davidson and Ridenow Powersports of the Fall season. This has been an incredible Fall season with thousands of riders attending over the last 10 weeks to enjoy great live music, food, drink, special displays and fun. Thanks to all who attend every week to make this the best bike night in the Southwest. It is fun to talk to those that are from out of town and watch them send pictures back to their buddies to show them what our bike night looks like. We will start up again in late March of next year after the Coyotes are done playing on Thursday nights. This week our live music will be “The Visitors”. These guys are great, as all of our bands have been. Ride in for the last night of season! See you Thursday night.
