I hope everyone is enjoying this Chamber of Commerce riding weather we are having right now. It just doesn’t get much better than this. Last week in the newsletter I mentioned the ride up South Mountain as a possible ride getaway here in town. I got so much response on that from people who had also forgotten about it, that I wanted to mention it again in case you didn’t see it last week. It is hard to believe that we are already on the doorstep of November 1st. Which means only 55 days till Christmas. Where has this year gone? I was just getting good at putting 2013 on my checks! With the calendar turning to November it also means that the Cyclerides.com Westgate Bike Night presented by Arrowhead HD and Ridenow Powersports is also about to come to an end. There are only 3 nights left to the Fall season. This Thursday night we will be one street to the North due to the Coyotes game. The last 2 nights, November 7th and 14th we will be in the normal location. November 7th will be NASCAR night at Bike Night. There will be a NASCAR on display as well as 7 of the Next drivers there to sign autographs in center court. 74th Street Band will be our Live Music for the evening. Ride in and enjoy our last 2 nights of the season.

 

Many of you have inquired about the Cyclerides.com Toys To Kids event for this year. It will be on Saturday, December 7th. I have 120 underprivileged and homeless kids from Children First Academy scheduled to attend the event. It will be held once again in the fountain park area at Westgate between the Theaters and Yardhouse. This is a great place for this event as there is a huge Christmas tree in the center with grass for the kids to sit on. Times will be announced soon, but will be around 10:30-11;00 AM and will last for one hour. Put it on your calendar.

 

I haven’t had a new Cyclerides.com T-Shirt for probably the last 3 or 4 years. Mostly because I really wasn’t inspired by anything new to put on them. That all changed on this last ride we took back East starting in Nashville, TN. Those of you that take multi-day rides know that pretty much all you want to do is lose yourself in the fact that you have nothing else to do for that period of time, other than enjoy the opportunity to see the country from the seat of a motorcycle. I know for me, that when I park that bike after an 8-10 hour day, I already can’t wait for the next morning to get on and do it all over again, and again, and again.

 

After about the 3rd day on this trip, I realized that I was on an infinite loop that I could do for a long time. Riding along the Blue Ridge Parkway, reflecting on our trip so far, I came up with these words for a T-Shirt to celebrate what a good ride is. “Ride – Eat – Sleep – Repeat”. In my opinion, those words are the epitome of what a good multi-day ride is. You get on your bike and enjoy the opportunity to see this beautiful country, as much as you can, in the best way possible. Christ’s Community Church Motorcycle Charity Ride. This will be a Poker Run with Grand Prize & Prizes Benefitting Street Light USA. Ride begins at CCC located at 4530 W. Thunderbird Rd. in Glendale, AZ. Check in & Breakfast at 8 AM. Kickstands up at 9 AM. Ride concludes at CCC Community Picnic at Sahuaro Ranch Park, 11 AM – 2 PM. 2nd Annual Veterans Tribute Ride and After Party. An expected 500 motorcycle patriots will join The 2nd Annual Veterans Tribute Ride at Sanderson Ford - 6400 North 51st Ave, in Glendale. In honor of our Veterans and all 5 branches of Armed Services. 10:00 A.M. Ride Registration opens. 12:30 Kick stands up.  After party at Harold's Cave Creek Corral - 6895 E.
