Weekly Update

Greetings Riders,

If you missed the newsletter last week, Click Here to View.

First of all, I want to say a big Thank You to all who replied to the letter last week about the passing of my Father. Your condolences and words of encouragement were needed and appreciated at this time. We are happy that he is in a much better place and not suffering. Mrs. C. and are doing well but will sorely miss him during the upcoming holidays.

After a couple of weeks of almost full time helping Dad and then planning the memorial, I am back to work and trying to catch up. There are couple of Unique events coming up over the next week that I wanted to mention today.

The first event is happening this Friday, Sept. 28th that you might want to participate in. For the first time ever at the Bike Night at Westgate, we will have an OUTSIDE BEER GARDEN that will stretch from Coyote Blvd. to Bar Louie's across the bridge between the fountains. Inspired by the design of a cement truck, The Monkey Mixer (Click Here for Photo) – as the vehicle is called – replaces what would typically be a spinning drum to keep concrete from hardening with a massive, shiny, silver cocktail shaker. In total, the mixer is over 27-feet long, 13-feet tall and 8-feet wide, with a capacity of about 2,400 gallons. Monkey Shoulder brags that the shaker could hold the equivalent of 123,000 bottles of the brand’s Scotch.

The Monkey Mixer is a party on wheels that holds more than just booze: It’s also equipped with a 2,000-plus watt sound system featuring three amplifiers, four speakers and three subwoofers (which should keep those cocktails shaking). The truck will be making its debut at the Bike Night at Westgate on Friday, September 28th where the brand will be serving up a drink called the Mixed Up Monkey directly from the mixer’s chute. Hang out in the beer garden between the fountains, enjoy some Mixed Up Monkey and listen to Live Music by "Skarlett Fever" from 6-9 PM. And music from the Monkey Mixer in between. Stop by and enjoy the fun this Friday night, 9/28, from 5-9 PM at Westgate Entertainment District at the Loop 101 & W. Glendale Ave.

The second event I want to mention is that the 6th Annual Geico Motorcycle Hot Bike Tour is coming to Arizona this year giving you the opportunity to ride with some of the best motorcycle builders in the United States. Ride a day or ride each day. Take part and ride on this journey with motorcycle enthusiasts, editors, pro builders, and industry leaders to celebrate the open road as HOT BIKE magazine comes to life. This
rolling rally will feature epic rides in a loop throughout the state of Arizona in a unique experience like no other motorcycle event. Those who ride from the start to the finish of the Tour are termed “LongRiders” and will be held in the highest honor. All makes and models of bikes will be allowed to participate. Throughout the tour, bike owners will be able to pick up and take off from any city following fellow bikers to the final destination.

Ride Schedule:
Tuesday, Oct 2nd: Kickstart Party at the Roadrunner Restaurant & Saloon in New River, AZ. 5PM - 9PM. Pro Builder Build-Off * Ride-In Bike Show * Live Music and More.
Wednesday, Oct. 3rd: Ride from Buddy Stubbs HD in Phoenix to Grand Canyon HD in Bellemont, AZ. Kickstands up at 10AM with an 11:30 AM lunch stop at Buddy Stubbs Anthem then a 5 PM Bike Night for an overnight stop in Bellemont/Flagstaff.

This is first time since 2011 that we have done a bike night in the East Valley and I am excited to be bringing it back. We will be riding into Tempe Marketplace for 10 consecutive weeks on Thursday nights starting on September 13th and ending on November 15th.
This is a fantastic venue conveniently located at the Loop 101 & 202. We will utilize the street and courtyard area in the center of Tempe Marketplace and will be able to cruise through and park our motorcycles on the street that is normally closed to traffic. There is a built in stage, tables, umbrellas and misters in the area that will keep you cool.

We will have Live Music every week and will open the first bike night with the 74th Street Band on September 13th. There will be Vendors as well as Food and Drink specials throughout the complex. Click Here for Food and Drink Specials at Tempe Marketplace. Dave and Busters has a great 2nd story patio that overlooks the road and band that you will be able to hang out in and watch the bikes cruise through. California Pizza Kitchen is on the ground level with an outdoor patio and Lucille's Smokehouse Bar-B-Que with a large outdoor patio where all the bikes exit, as well as many other places throughout the district.Live Music for September will include: 74th St. Band, Backstage Crew and Skarlett Fever on September 27th. Ride in and help us kick it off on Thursday, September 13th. See Photos of where we will be having bike night. Thanks to Tempe Marketplace for allowing us to do this and to our presenting sponsors: Desert Wind Harley-Davidson, Ridenow Powersports Chandler, Indian Motorcycle Chandler and Nash Powersports, along with our associate sponsor Law Tigers who help make this happen.

- Live Music with Skarlett Fever September 28th
This season will be all Friday nights from September 7th - November 16th. Live Music every Friday night with some of the best bands in the valley. We are kicking off this season with great soul and classic rock by "The Visitors". Other bands include Strangeland, Skarlett Fever, Broken Toys, Backstage Crew, 74th St Band and Bad June. Enjoy Vendors, Live Music and Food & Drink Discounts throughout Westgate.
Thanks to our presenting Sponsors again this season, Arrowhead Harley-Davidson, Ridenow Powersports Peoria and Indian Motorcycle Peoria and our associate sponsor Law Tigers. They are what makes this happen.

For those of you that have not been to Westgate, I like to call it the "Times Square of the Desert" that presents a great venue for a bike night that has been going on for 10 years as one of the biggest bike nights in the Southwest. Cruise and park on Coyote Blvd. next to the fountains, then visit the vendors and grab something to eat and drink at one of the many restaurants. Stay tuned for the food and drink specials. I look forward to getting this started again to provide a great place to ride to on Fridays nights. Ride in on Friday, September 7th to help us kick it off for the season. See you there!
