Cyclerides.com Weekly
Update
3/20/13
Greetings Riders,
Well, the motorcycle riding weather is fully entrenched in Arizona and my
bike is now the first vehicle out of the garage, especially when running errands
around this big valley. Felt great putting 100 miles on it last
Thursday just taking care of some business around town. With gas still close to
$4.00 a gallon, even a 100 mile trip saves me $18, more than enough for a good
lunch. It is soon time to start taking some rides out to the local lakes to view
the wildflowers. Generally the best time for wildflowers is from late March to
early May. With all of the rain we have gotten, it should be a good year for
them. I have already seen a few starting to dot the hilltops around Bartlett
Lake.
Not only are the wildflowers starting to bloom, but our favorite bike
night, the
Cyclerides.com Westgate
Bike Night presented by
Arrowhead
Harley-Davidson and
Ridenow
Powersports is coming back to the West Valley,
starting the
Spring season on Thursday, March 28th from 5-9 PM and happening every Thursday
through June 27th. There is always disappointment when it ends in the Fall, but
the anticipation has been building this year and we are once again ready kick
off what has become the largest bike night in the Southwest. Believe it or not,
March 28th will begin the 5th season of the Cyclerides.com Westgate bike night.
In the past couple of years we have kicked off bike night during Arizona Bike
Week. This year, we will be launching 2 weeks prior to the start of bike week.
This enables us to get in the 14 week season that will end on Thursday, June
27th.
If you were there last year, you know the setting. In the midst of all the
lights, billboards and 30'x50' LED Video screen, Westgate has
created the feel of Times Square in the desert and on Thursdays it transforms
into a mini Sturgis. Coyote Blvd., located adjacent to the $6 million dancing
fountains will be blocked off for motorcycles only, as well as the entire events
plaza and everywhere else you can find a place to park your bike. If critical
mass creates energy, we have it here. Then throw in some music, lights, vendors,
happening bars and restaurants like Saddleranch, McFaddens, Margaritaville and
the Shout House, add the roar of a thousand motorcycles, and you've got yourself
a party every Thursday night.
This year we will kick off bike night with the 7 piece band called “Fuel
It”. The band is made up of master musicians that will bring us the
classics of rock and roll of the 70’s and 80’s. I’m sure we will all enjoy the
music that Fuel It will bring to us.
Bike Night Restaurant Specials.
I have worked very hard to get the restaurants to come up with some
consistent bike night specials. I think they have stepped up very
well this year to offer some good deals. There will be restaurant specials all
season long that include offers from:
McFadden’s - 10% discount on your bill when you show your M-class license on Bike
Night. Plus, bikers can enjoy regular happy hour specials, including $2 Bud/Bud
Light Drafts, $3 Wells and $5 Appetizers from 4-7pm.
Calico Jack’s Cantina - $19.99
Bike Night Platters with Nacho chips, mini-chimis, onion rings and
jalapeno poppers, plus a pitcher of domestic draft beer. Enjoy 10% off your bill
when you show your M-class license on Bike Night.
The Shout! House - $9 Natural Black
Angus Burger, Fries, and Beer special ($15 value) and a FREE cover for 2
card to come back on the weekend ($10 value) when you show your M-class license
on Bike Night.
Kabuki - Take 15% off when you show
your motorcycle license during Westgate Bike Night. Valid only during Westgate
Bike Night events. Dine-in only. Valid only at Westgate City Center location.
One offer per table per party. Not valid during Happy Hour and Reverse Happy
Hour. Cannot be combined with any other offers or rewards. Excludes alcohol,
tax, gratuity and gift card purchases.
Saddle Ranch - 2 chicken tacos for
$5.50*. Classic pints of draft beer for only $3*. Plus, bikers can enjoy regular
happy hour specials from 4-6:30pm with 50% off all appetizers and drinks. *Valid
from 6:30pm to 10:00pm on all Bike Nights, excluding event days when there are
concerts, sporting or other events at the Center, Stadium or Arena.
Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville - 10%
off entire food bill to anyone who presents their M-Class driver's license.
Plus, bikers can enjoy happy hour from 4-7pm with 50% off appetizers, $3 well
vodka, rum and gin drinks, $4 Landshark 20oz drafts and $5 Who’s to Blame
Margaritas.
The first 3 nights are likely to be pretty big leading up to Arizona Bike
Week, so I would like to give you the schedule up to that time.
Thursday, March 28th: We will be in the normal location
in the events plaza area next to Jobing.com Arena and the fountains featuring
the music of “Fuel It”.
Thursday, April 4th: Due to a Coyotes Hockey game we
will move one street to the North between the Yard house and the Theaters and
will feature the music of the “Backstage Crew”.
Thursday, April 11th: We will be back to the the normal
location and will feature our crowd favorite band “Sour Diesel Train Wreck” as
the musical guest.
There are a couple of vendor spots still available. If you would be
interested in one, email me at
info@cyclerides.com .
I am excited to once again provide a great event for everyone to ride to
and share your passion of motorcycle riding. As always, I look
forward to seeing each and everyone of you as we kick of the Cyclerides.com
Westgate Bike Night presented by Arrowhead Harley-Davidson and Ridenow
Powersports together on Thursday, March 28th. Hope to see you there. Be
sure to stop by and say Hello!
Ride Safe and see you next week,
Barry

St. Mary's advised us that donations have been down
dramatically in every area that they receive them. Unfortunately, these reduced
resources come when times are harder than ever for the people who need them in
order to feed their families. There was one exception, however. For 3 years
running, the very same H.O.G. Chapters who came together for this cause have
doubled their donations each year, the only source of St. Mary's that increased
rather than decreased. Anthem may be sponsoring this ride, but by putting our
competitive spirits aside for just one day, the real winners will again be the
St. Mary's Food Bank and all of the needy families that will be fed as a result
of our cooperative participation. We are extending an invitation for you to
share this with your Chapter Members (and all other bikers and clubs) and to
encourage you to join us on this great benefit ride while taking in the scenic
desert views of Arizona. This is a great opportunity for Arizona's HOG Chapters
and friends to all come together and show their unity not just for HOG as a
club, but to unite under a banner of charity and brotherhood. Shedding the
stereotypes, we can show our respective communities a true sense of what biker
character is all about. Don't miss out on this historical Multi-Chapter event!
Your registration fee of $30.00 per bike made prior to March 15th, 2013 will
include the following:A commemorative Ride T-shirt (To the first 60 who
pre-register by March 15th). The satisfaction of knowing that your contribution
will help needy families right here in your community! A
beautiful ride across the State with your fellow H.O.G. Members and other biker
friends. Raffle tickets will be picked up at the start and then at some of the
ride stops along the way. Our route starts at Buddy Stubbs Anthem Harley
Davidson and we will be traveling through Wikieup, Seligman, Chino Valley and
then to the last stop at Connolly's Grill (2605 W Carefree Hwy Phoenix) at 5:30
P.M. Cash prizes and raffle items will be awarded at 6:30 P.M. Registrations and
information can be found online at: http://www.anthemhog.com/
